A little help with your shared space.

Support

Dunia is a private photo and video space for two people using iPhone and iCloud.

Connect your two iPhones

  1. Sign in to your own iCloud account on each iPhone and enable iCloud Drive.
  2. One person opens Dunia, enters their name, and chooses Create a space.
  3. In Settings → Connection settings, enter the other person’s Apple Account email and create an invitation.
  4. The invited person opens the invitation or pastes it into Join a space in Dunia.
  5. Compare the entire connection code over a trusted call. Confirm Codes match on both phones.

Share and view

Use the + button to capture a photo or video, or choose an item from Photos. Videos can be up to one minute. When the other person requests to view an item, its owner can approve once, allow a period of time, or grant ongoing access.

Keep both apps open and unlocked while viewing. An internet connection is required. Notifications can be delayed, so open both apps if a request does not arrive.

An invitation or upload is not working

Check that iCloud Drive is enabled, both phones have internet, and the invitation was sent to the Apple Account used for iCloud on the receiving phone. Check the space owner’s available iCloud storage. If Dunia shows a pending upload, open the app and choose Retry uploads. Contact support if the issue persists.

Change access or delete an item

Long-press an item you own and choose Sharing options, Ask next time, or Delete item. Deletion removes the item from Dunia; it does not remove the original from Photos or copies outside Dunia. Revoking permission cannot retract content already seen or recorded.

Updates, lost phones, and recovery

Install updates over the existing app. Dunia’s keys remain on each phone and are not recoverable from iCloud. Deleting the app, losing the phone, or removing its device passcode can permanently lose access to saved items. Rejoining a space does not recover the old keys.

Screen capture and privacy

Dunia uses protected display surfaces and checks for recording. These controls cannot stop someone using a separate camera, a compromised device, or copies already made outside the app. Run the display check in Help & app information before relying on the display controls.

Control or end sharing

Open Settings → Sharing controls:

  • Block sharing stops new approvals and uploads, clears standing permissions, and hides incoming items. Blocking remains active after closing and reopening Dunia. Resume sharing keeps the connection, but viewing requires fresh approval.
  • Disconnect this space removes this phone’s cloud records and leaves or closes the iCloud share. Your own encrypted saved files stay on this iPhone. This setup cannot reconnect to the old space. If cleanup fails, sharing stays blocked; restore iCloud access and use Retry disconnection.
  • Delete Dunia data completes cloud cleanup before erasing this phone’s keys and files. While connected, it needs iCloud access. If cleanup fails, your local data remains for retry. Successful deletion cannot be undone. Use this before uninstalling.

These controls cannot remove originals in Photos, previously delivered copies, or content already seen or recorded elsewhere.

Respectful sharing and reporting concerns

Share only content you have the right to share with someone who wants to receive it. Do not use Dunia for harassment, threats, exploitation, illegal content, or non-consensual intimate images.

Choose Report a concern in Settings or Help to compose an email to support@dunia.online. Describe the concern in your own words without forwarding private media, captions, invitation links, keys, or account credentials. Dunia does not automatically attach private content. You choose whether to send the draft from your email app. You can also email support directly. Support can review your report and help with available safety controls; it cannot decrypt your private media or recover your keys.

Never send support your private photos, videos, connection invitation, device passcode, or Apple Account password. A description of the issue, app version, iOS version, and error message is usually enough.
